The other day when Mai was over, I showed her a picture of my nephew - and at that split moment I realised, "omg.. HE LOOKS LIKE EUGENE!" well, a miniature version of eugene anyway xD Here's.... BENJAMIN :D

Almost forgot to mention, I went to a wedding today~ I haven't seen these people in agesssssss because the groom's mother used to, let's say, 'babysit' me when I was younger :)

I saw Ly Do there as well ^__^ and we took a few photos but I blinked in so many of them aha. I also took a photo with Margaret because she's transformed so much! Last time I saw her, she was about a head shorter than I was. Now she's practically my height.

a visit from the amazing mai .

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!
I was having a really good sleep when it was suddenly interrupted by a home phone call. Yes, the amazing mai had called, and I knew this because as I struggled to lift my head up, my mother yells out "PICK UP THE PHONE! IT'S MAI!" (in vietnamese/chinese)

So about 10 minutes later, Mai arrives and says "hey, I brought soup, and some croutons!"

After making the soup we watched 'How I Met Your Mother', followed by 'Shanghai Noon'. By this time, I was feeling tremendously icky because I haven't showered yet and I usually shower in the mornings of my holidays. (During school days I shower at night for some absurd reason) xD

LOL that reminds me of the time Nhung and I were eating at a Japanese restaurant and at the exact moment I said "Wow, I actually haven't showered for two days straight", a man eating next to us choked on his soup noodles as though it was a sudden reaction towards what I had just said. We cracked up laughing because of that and the lady sitting across from him gave us 'the glare' and wouldn't stop looking at Nhung in particular ahaha.

So back to today:
Mai and I made video recordings of ourselves cooking a 'Christmas dinner', (because our parents were too busy to >=\) consisting of turkey ham, crumbled fish and chips that I shall upload really soon. It may seem like an odd combination, but it tasted allllll-right. It practically filled us up so much we could barely force ourselves to get up from the chair. I don't know about Mai, but I felt like Santa myself. We then watched MORE movies (part 'Grinch', part 'A Walk to Remember') and then Mai had to go toilet like 5 times xD

It didn't even feel like Christmas.

AVATAR 3D IS DEFINITELY WORTH WATCHING. no doubt about it.

No, it's not only the special effects that intrigued me. It was the fact that the director (who was also the director of 'titantic') had perhaps, without us even realising it, turned us against our own human race. Now isn't that amazing ? For a moment there, we humans were the bad guys who threatened to diminish a superior and one-of-a-kind race. And to be honest, even I was cheering when the 'enemy' (us) were getting our asses whooped by the blue aliens.
So in short, the movie was so good that it even made us homo sapiens unaware that we were "cheering" for the "other" side. Well, for a while anyway ;)

3D GLASSES :D

What I found most fascinating was the concept of the "Na'vi" people and their affection towards mother nature. Also, when they say the words "I see you", it isn't your everyday "i see you as in with my eyes and my eyes only", but more like "I see into your soul - and understand your ways" type of thing, which has a completely different meaning.

Two movies in one day, again ! Mai came over earlier and left a movie on my computer: 'A Walk to Remember' - so I watched it just before. I must say, it was another irrevocably heart-tumbling and captivating movie, although, it wasn't as 'recent' nor suspenseful as Avatar.

On something completely unrelated to movies, today was also Christmas Eve. For me, this is the annual 'give a present to your neighbour' day. My neighbour and my family exchange gifts every Christmas and I love it. Free presents for me without the necessity for me to spend money since it's my mum who pays for the neighbour's pressies hehe. On the down side, they gave me Ferrero Rocher - AND IM ALLERGIC TO NUTS. On the positive side, I was given two presents :) the other was also chocolate (I think it's made in Italy), except not all of them contained peanuts. It's funny, I suspected another "make-up" kit as they've given me that for the past two years or so. Now it's suddenly 'chocolate chocolate chocolate'. What's next? PJs ? (actually, they gave me pyjamas one year too LOL)

i'm going to watch 'avatar' in 3D today. heard it was a really good movie (Y) anyway, hope you guys like what i've done here :) it was a tad bit rushed since i was trying to do this whilst chatting on msn

hot pot <3

short blog~ today's actually the 19th of dec but we ate hot pot the 17th so yeah, i changed the date on here LOL

anyway, what happened that day was:

- drove mai and vee to arndale to catch the bus to the city but we got to the arndale bus stop JUST as it was about to leave aha
- bumped into joseph kwon, who was also going to vancy's
- bought food: hot dog, pizzas (since vancy said we weren't eating til later)
- spoke to an elderly woman at the bus stop who had a really nice scottish accent
- watched half of 'haunting of connecticut' at vancy's house (pretty good horror movie in my opinion, i didn't know why the others didn't like it)
- ate hot pot and showed linh how my jaw makes a funny sound whenever i opened it, but everyone else started eavesdropping ! lol
- watched second half of the movie
- played Wii tennis :D :D :D lost to dom but bet mai aha
- watched 'how i met your mother' and ate jelly with vanilla icecream ^__^

it was a nice 'catch-up' day though, right? aha ;D

i also have a new laptop now guys !! yayyerr no more frustration over how slow my other laptop is, ever again :D

i went on youtube and saw yong favourite it so i decided to watch it xD

today, i went to glenelg but instead of meeting vee there at the allocated time, (2pm) we came approximately 1.5 hours late. why? well because i came about 20 minutes late (i was meant to meet trinity and eric zhang at 1:30) but hey - nhung came AN HOUR LATE again.

we really ought to deter this dreadful habit -_- punctuality is the key to success.
LOLOL that reminds me, nhung once said something like "concentration is the key to success", but in a really 'confucius-style' tone of voice while we were 'studying'. that didn't help at all - instead, it completely made us lose our train of thought since we couldn't stop laughing at what she just said because she had no idea she even said it. did that make sense? LMAO

i swear, i got her to wear it the other day and it was the cutest photo ever. then i lost my phone, along with the photo, and now i can't get her to wear it again =\

ahh can't get that song out of my head !! lol especially the french part, which sounds a bit like she's saying "rau ma rau ma ma" (that green leaf vietnamese pennywort drink) ahah okay, that was a joke nhung made.

anyway, today we went to drop in some resumes at various stores in hope that they'll accept us, despite it being realllyyy late to apply for christmas lol

on our way, we walked into that white shelter in the middle of rundle because our curiosity got the better of us D: there were really pretty lights in there :) at first i thought it was only a man singing in the dome xD

we also saw that guy from neighbours. he plays ringo and he's on his way to being a well known singer just like delta goodrem and many others who start their singing careers off neighbours. oh and he saw me and nhung just standing there staring at the sign that says "$6" to get his autograph or w/e LOL and some girls walking past were like, "wow he's so much uglier in real life" ?? i didn't think he was bad-looking or anything. he just looks exactly like how he does on neighbours -_- aha

so tomorrow i'm going to apply at wendy's because by the time we heard they were looking for people, we ran out of resumes! i also applied for sumo salad online hehe.

while we were looking for some jobs we also did some .. shopping :)

i can't believe i didn't know that so many of my friends had blogspot :(
aha guess i was in my little comfort zone, only looking at maddy and won young's blogs most of the time. that is, until i found one person's blogspot, which lead me to another, and another, and so on.
before i knew it there were like 20 other people i knew who blogspot and im like WHAAAAT lol shame on me for not knowing~ i will now make mai tran a blogspot :)

so what happened today?
well, mai woke up late (LOL we were meant to meet at 1 in town but she set the alarm to 12:15 thinking it would provide her enough time to get ready xD) and as a result, her sister had to drive us to the city.

GOOD THING we told nhung to meet us at 12:30 because she always comes late!! and she still came late!! actually, she came at 1, which was when we were meant to meet up. sadly, she told jennifer to meet us at 12:30 too so the poor girl had to wait a whole hour !! tsk, nhung !! aha

coincidentally, andrew was on the bus~ the guy who thinks i look like sun ye as well lol. i think he looks like the chicken from chicken little ahhaha

anyway, it was only vancy, mai, jennifer and nhung who came along to eat. we had a really good conversation about primary school too and how this girl ate mai's glue in year 5 >_>
afterwards, we met richard and his little brother. then vancy went with mai to buy mai's mum a $100 necklace in chinatown for her birthday while the rest of us went to state library... borrowed a few books to read these hols :) and saw trinity's sister there too aaha adelaide is such a small place.

another unexpected event was when mai, vancy and i were going to catch a bus home but found nguyen/noooogen waiting at the bus stop as well.
we started talking about ye old primary school days at mansfield park and coincidentally, a kid who went to our school was also on the bus. mai, as always, makes an embarrassing statement by waving to the guy xD so i was like "ooh didn't you go to mansfield?" and he nodded hesitantly. ROFL then mai whispered something really random to me and nguyen about an old primary school friend and nguyen was like "hey, why are you whispering? it's not like the guy will go up to *name of person* and say OMG julie mai and nguyen were talking about you" LOL

somehow we stumbled upon the topic about the jelly they sold at mansfield back then. it was sold with icecream on top and i remembered how noice it was *drools. so then we decided that we will make it :D

mai also felt like eating chicken so we went to coles to buy the roast chicken quarter, and the ingredients for the jelly icecream thingo .

oh did i mention that nguyen decided to come over as well? LOL random yes. oh well, old primary school friend. rents didn't seem to mind. it was nguyen who was more nervous aha !! "is your dad scary?" well, at least he said hello to my mum and dad aha

anyway, it turned out vancy and i had to make the jelly ourselves -__- while mai was doing god knows what aha and nguyen was FACEBOOKING !

whoa that's probably the most i've blogged. oh wait, after nguyen went home, mai had more cravings for chicken so i drove to coles and we bought a whole chicken to eat AHAHA

so that's all i suppose.. :P

i think im going to melbourne again, like i always do, cos my dad loves it there. my mum's more doubtful though. think i'll take mai this time cos i took nhung last time LOL "giant pigeon"

i don't know about you guys but i always have the most absurd dreams during the holidays ..
there's this one dream that i keep having and it's at like a theme park (like the royal show) and there's heaps of show rides and everything. i remember all my friends there but they keep hesitating to go on one of the rides.. but i think i went on it eventually and that's where the dream suddenly ends, so that's rather odd.

kapowwwwww. i feel like baking some cakes ya'lllll. AND KARAOKE! perhaps tmros - everyone can comeeeeeee ^__^ except miss won young's in KOREA! i heard vee feels like karaoke too so yarrr.

well turns out that's not the case -___-

when i went to get my report today i was dissatisfied. not because i went down an A - (LOL psychology 18 to a 16), but because my report looks heaps shabby now!!

when i saw the 70% on my report for the IT exam i was thinking, "nah this can't be right.."
so i went to see the IT teacher to get my exam back - but this was the retarded part:
HE STARTED MARKING THE EXAM!!! IN FRONT OF ME AND TRINITY!
which clearly made no sense at all - cos in my hands i was holding a report that said "70%" for the IT exam.

so then he gave me 34/40 for it but i was extremely confused - LIKE MY REPORT SAYS DIFFERENTLY MR. DUDE! then he 'briefly' calculated the percentage and was like "must be about 75%" so i calculated it and told him it was 85% >_> like cmonnn i thought you were a teacher LOL

so then the IT teacher whited out the "70%" and wrote "85%" in pen >_> now it looks like i changed it myself!

trinity's my witness man. she saw everything too and was like "this is why i changed maths studies classes." LOL

tsk tsk. disappointed. VERY disappointed.

SO MADDY!! IF YOU GOT 70% ON UR REPORT TOO TELL ME SO WE CAN.. DISCUSS IT ! xD he probs wrote it on everyone's report - or he might just hate us cos we didn't go to the IT lecture !! LOL
and btw when i walked out he was like "what did you think of the IT LECTURE?" and im like "i didn't get the email til after" so he gave me a 'i dont believe you' look aha he probably found out that the IT lecture was the only one we didn't go to ahaha

cutting clothes

just had the yr 12 transition lectures for visual art studies and english studiesss D:
i think i'll stick to visual arts since i know i'll enjoy it more ;)

anyway, today i went shopping with maddy and nhungma cos there's so many parties coming up. oh but before that we met won young's friend, aya ^__^ she was really pretty and according to maddy, she looked like a 'filipino actress' LOL

turns out this girl at usc 'cuts' her clothing to make it look better and she really does transform normal shirts into stylish off shoulder tops (Y) found it pretty awesome.

so maddy went to look for something to transform - like a plain black shirt - and so she bought one at dotti~

then when i got home, i felt like some designing myself LMAO! and i just had this instinct to look into my mum's closet - and that's exactly what i did :)

i found this purple skivvy with that turtleneck collar and it was purrrfect cos i knew my mum wouldn't want it, which was why i cutted it first then showed her after hehe she actually liked it thank god hahaa

the things i miss:

seeing as i couldn't sleep i may as well talk about some things that i haven't blogged much about.

i know this may sound odd - but i know it refers to quite a few people. i don't have to mention any names. maybe only a time period. say, term 2 of last year- 2008.

sometimes with our current lives (and seeing as everyone has changed, including me) we don't actually think about how much fun we had back then, but like, now that i look back on it - those were really good times.

i miss how nhung and sarah - the rossmith girls - used to catch a bus to town, and how as a group of friends, we used to all meet up.

i miss how me and vancy used to catch a tram after school to meet those girls and everyone else too. but sarah's in sydney now :(

i miss how mai would finish school and can't wait to go to town and meet us all - meet everyone.

i miss those funny honda civic jokes made by sarah - and i missed how much the whole group enjoyed laughing at the stupidest things LOL i cant even remember half of them anymore.

yes, even those silly jokes made by daniel chan. they always seemed to make people laugh - i don't know how LMFAO! and remember those paris hilton and animal jokes? ahaa

i miss how we all used to meet up in myer foodct - and then someone would randomly say, "hey, anyone feel like karaoke?" then we would all be like "HELLS YEAH!" and go, then the girls would crash at my place after and we'd have the best conversations.

it's so sad. i don' t know why, but it feels like something's been lost - people don't seem to be as happy was they were last year. T^T a lot has changed since then.

this year hasn't been the best for my close friends either and it hurts me to see them hurt.

i miss how we all used to eat at those asian restaurants and eat yum cha and how we would all plan to do the randomest things, without having a care in the world.

to all you peeps out there- i miss you all! SAC, PAC, RossSmith and those in between! LOL. it's not like we can rewind time or anything, but at least we'll always have our memories (Y).

mai came over today ^___^ after yong wei, eric zhang and her all joined the usc apps lecture LOL.
and i met maddy's friend, jaymon :D whata funny day it was (Y) ROFL"is ur mum like, asian?"

so when mai came over we were facebooking and ranting on about how unfair it is that EVERYONE HAS SUCH NICE CLOTHES AND WE DON'T COS WE HAVENT SHOPPED IN AGES!! >< we also had pie :) with cheeeeese yaaaa

so anyway, when mai went home i decided to check out some melbourne websites on like uni courses cos' there might be a slight slight chance that i may be moving there sometime in the future. highly doubt it though - but you can never be too sure :D

and so i was searching on like monash university and stuff but OMGGGGG after like a few hrs of research, i must admit, adelaide has got the EASIEST courses to get into, compared to melb.

why ? well maybe cos to get into something like medical imaging in SA there's absolutely no prerequisites but in melb you need physics. that's bad cos hardly anyone's doing physics at USC.

aya all you really need is a high TER basically and you can get into 'almost' every course in adelaide. BUT MELBOURNE - dudeeeeee the scores are heapsss high - or maybe it was only monash and melb uni - but cmonnn the double degree 'TERs' were like 98 ! AND MATHS STUDIES was the prerequisite for most courses. they also recommend 'specialist maths' -__- good bye radiology and double degree in law & commerce in melb lol. such high standards tsk.

think i'd prefer the unis in adelaide now.
