♫ like baby, baby, baby, nooo.

yo what’s wrong with the world mama. people livin’ like they aint got no mamas.

Horrendous. Absolutely, without a doubt, despicable. What kind of sick, cold-hearted person would do this to dogs? Then again, there are obviously so many other cases that are similar to this, but probably not as extreme over here. Click on the above picture to read the actual article.

On another topic, I went to eat at Civic Park on Sat with a bunch of USC peeps. It was awe- wait for it - SOME. (You gotta love the 'Mai' version of Barney from How I Met Your Mother) Turns out, they give you a FREE CAKE if you say it's your birthday. ;) For me it was a day late but who can complain when the yummy pavlova is free-of-charge? Compliments of the restaurant? WITH PLAYING MUSIC WHEN THE LIGHTS TURN OFF AND THE LADY WALKS TO YOU WITH A CAKE :D

I really had no idea that Binh and Jennie ordered the cake. They lied! Binh goes, "you get a free cake but you're meant to inform them when you book" -__- So there I was, holding my bowl of Sweet Corn and Chicken soup (and needless to say, Mai and Nhung had no idea that it was happening either, they also thought it was some other kid's birthday LOL)

.. when suddenly people turn to me so I go, "wow, is that cake for me?" (in surprise of course, c'mon I didn't know I was going to get a pavlova!) and the lady was on the verge of walking away so I say, "hey, it's my birthday! but i didn't know I get a free cake.." and so she handed us the cake.

That night I drove Nhung and Mai to Vancy's house and gave her half the cake since I knew I wasn't going to finish it - plus we were bored, so why not? :)

TUMBLR

is good for short phrases and lots and lots and lots of pictures haha ;D

a red rose

Sometimes, there is a fine line between dreams and reality. It's good to have dreams, it really is. But you gotta admit - there are those that are virtually impossible to achieve, unless you get really lucky, of course.

For example, winning the 30 million dollar jackpot in the lottery.
My aunty randomly said to me today, (she's leaving to VN soon so I suppose she's just attempting her best to be wise, or maybe she just is LOL cos' she reminds me and my cousins of the happy Buddha)

Anyway back to the topic.. she randomly said to me today, "winning the lottery jackpot is like trying to find a pin at the beach" (hmm kind of sounded better in vietnamese..) Wise words from a wise lady aha
But I guess some people don't mind dedicating their whole lives trying to find that very pin on the beach no matter how hard it is to find. Then again, another person might just randomly glance down at their feet and go "hey, i found a pin."

What else happened today? Well my dad taught me how to change and pump a car tyre. That was different. 32 psi. But it was pretty funny cos for the 30 minutes I was there, there were no women present at the pumping station. At least two cars went to pump their tyres there but definitely no women around.

karaoke for two

What better way to celebrate the obtainment of your Ps licence than to go karaoke with the person who is also getting their Ps on the same day. Yeah, so it was only two of us who went... but it was a last minute decision xD

Not only did we immediately catch the bus home so that I could drive to Coles (LOL to buy bolognese sauce), but we decided to make another meal for ourselves: "meat on bread". This time.. without actually recording it.

So Mai was really excited and eager for me to drive (didn't expect my mum to actually SMILE when I asked if I could borrow the car, though...) because Mai, like myself, wanted to drive as well. But when I drove her to her house, her mother refused to let her drive Truc's car aha despite how 'politely' she asked.

Mai: Mummmm can I pleaseee drive to Julie's house so you won't have to take me home after?
Mai's mum: KHONG!!! (which is 'no' in viet) *really evil face*
What made it worse was that Mai's mum was holding a kitchen knife in her hands and was in the middle of chopping something LOL
Mai's mum: (as we walk away) BUY COKE WHILE UR AT IT
*Mai is very disappointed and complains in car*

AND THEN at home, I was happily eating the lovely sauce we made until I realised a familiar taste...I knew it from the moment I ate it but there was so much CHEESE in there that it covered up the smell.

I eventually read the "INGREDIENTS" on the sauce label to find that yes, it indeed, consisted of NUTS. Warning: CONTAINS SOY AND TREE NUTS. WHAT THE HELL MUN!!! Who would think that Bolognese Sauce with three different cheeses would contain nuts.. -___- the reaction wasn't so bad.. only my lips were a bit swollen but yeah. Complete lost of appetite though. I gave Mai the sauce to take home LOL

It sucks being allergic to peanuts and dog fur.

funny people

That dog above looks so much like Candi but it obviously isn't.. since I don't have mini wigs around my house :(

So tomorrow is ice skating night and I'm catching up with old chaps !! ;D yayerr~
But today..
- Coincidentally met Jaymon and IJ again but this time with Jemima(?)
- Met up with Nhung to go to Marion and also saw Tony & Joannaaaaa on 232
- Jaymon and his friends caught the M44 bus with us cos it goes past their area
- Ate those awesome pretzels that are like $5 each
- Shopped until our legs ached but ended up with hardly anything
- We met some friendly 'druggie-lookalikes' on the bus home LOL they were actually quite nice and had a great sense of humour aha

Guy who looks like the dude from Family Guy: (To Nhung) You look Korean!
Me: Uh.. she actually does.. how do you know what koreans look like?
Family Guy dude: they look like HER! *points to Nhung*
Dude with George Bush t-shirt: Man, you're so racist!
Other dude: I had a gf who went to USC.. she was Vietnamese and looked Korean too. She had that same necklace *points to Nhung's necklace* and that same bag..*points to Nhung's bag* LOL
Family Guy dude: Oh I like Chinese and Thai food!
Nhung: Do you guys like spring rolls?
All of them: *SHOCK FACE* YESSS!!!
*Me and Nhung exchange wth looks*

Don't think we've ever met anyone who loved spring rolls that much before..

it's like my ipod stuck on replay.. ♫

Dear online diary,
Today was a pretty good day. I ate two fortune cookies. It just felt like a good day ~

.. though, the dream I had this morning wasn't .. or was it more like a nightmare? It was a funny one nevertheless xD

In the dream, the little boy from the grudge (well at least it kind of resembled him) was hiding in my kitchen oven, like right against the back. Like, wth? When I woke up I was thinking, what on earth was the little grudge boy even doing in there? Trying to cook himself? It didn't make sense LOL.

Ah, that's all I had to say :)

the secret of happiness

... not even psychology can answer that question.
But one thing that I do know is that happiness is nothing without sadness. You would have nothing to compare happiness to, so how would you know you're happy unless you have experienced something else to compare to it?
The same goes for love and hate I suppose. It would be virtually impossible to hate everyone, and to love everyone, so in a way you can't exactly always be happy because then, you wouldn't know what the difference between happiness and sadness truly is.

Anyway, I've been reading a few books and just wanted to keep track of them before I forget and go "ahhh what's that book I read again.." xD

This was the first book I read these holidays and as far as I'm concerned, it's the best one yet. The moment you read its plot it's like, "yup, this is going to be interesting". A reporter goes to interview a psychic (who she's never even met before) only to find out that she's going to get married to him within a few months. She's in disbelief of course, until she realises that many of his predictions are shockingly accurate.

The book above wasn't as good as I expected it would be. No wonder Mai only read like 9 pages of it. Although unlike Mai, I actually managed to finish the novel aha. It kind of unravels as you read on but I reckon it lacks the unexpected surprises that leave you wanting to read more of it.

Haven't started reading this one yet, but I will soon!! aha ;)

a lovely wedding ;)

Nhung and I went to Ju / Nam Nhi / Leanne's family wedding but at first, we thought it was simply an average wedding reception where all the Asian parents would sing and dance. Turns out that by midnight all the younglings went madd and started taking over the dance floor once better music started to play.. ;)

People we knew were catering there as well, including Tarra, Phu, Sinh and Chris :)
~ Trang was there tooo and we requested the song "End of the Road", but it never got called out -__- Oh well, we had an amazing time anyway !

More pictures to come ^__^

NYE AND NEW YEAR'S DAY :D

Had an amazing time with everyone at Son's for NYE. I feel so sorry for their neighbours though because:
1. we made a huge commotion by blowing those party horns 5 mins before it was even New Year's
2. we had our own fireworks which were a tad bit early as well
3. when it was almost midnight, we did the countdown like 4 times because some guy kept repeating "THERE'S STILL ONE MORE MINUTE LEFT!" and each time was louder than the next xD

Mai came over today and we decided to go eat at Caffe Primo at the Parade :)

AND ALSO, a creepy old Asian pervert ruined our perfect day. When Mai and I were waiting at Arndale to get driven home, a man comes out of nowhere and just stands there, glaring at us. Unfortunately, this wasn't the first time I've seen this dude. The old man is usually at the Arndale bustop and he tends to stalk other girls too. It was tremendously uncomfortable for Mai and I because today was New Year's, which meant there were barely any cars or people around. Our instincts caused us to run to the nearest place that would be populated by people, and that was Greater Union. LOL! There, we met Ly and Jamie, along with Jennie and Binh.

If any one of you guys have encountered a similar problem, tell me about it! The guy had grey hair, a kind of 'doped-up' face and wears glasses. He looks like your everyday Asian grandpa.. except this man is probably a pedophile -__-
